Job Description:
Serve as the Chief, Engineering and Construction Division, San Francisco District. Ensures the Division is aligned with the Corporate Strategic Vision. Is accountable to the District
Commander, for all construction, engineering and design commitment documents in Project Management Plans (PMPs), including Quality Management Plans.Duties
· Manages construction engineering and design for a myriad of technical services provided to other government agencies.
· Accomplishes the engineering and design program through subordinate organizational elements.
· The incumbent accomplishes the construction program through subordinate organizational elements in central and project office locations which together perform the full range of office and field construction engineering functions.
· Coordinates contract modifications for ongoing and terminated contracts.
· Evaluates and assesses the Safety of Dams program for the District; Evaluates and assesses the Levee Safety program for the District.
· Principal advisor to the District Commander and advocate for the Safety of Dams program in the District. Manages the program through the Dam Safety Program Manager and supporting staff.
· Supports the Operations and Maintenance of Locks and Dams and Flood Risk Management Reservoirs.
· Designs, develops, and promulgates working procedures, policies, methods, etc. for staff.
· Responsible for position management issues and changes in jobs; establishes performance standards, evaluates performance of subordinate supervisors and reviews performance appraisals of non-supervisory employees.
