Job Description:
We are seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to join our team. Ideal candidate will possess or is eager to learn the skills needed to oversee the buildout of land development projects from bid procurement through final acceptance of improvements. Projects include a variety of pump stations, water tanks, mass grading, bridges, underground utilities, roadway improvements, etc. The ideal candidate is comfortable in both, an office and jobsite environment. This is a great opportunity to work for a reputable land developer on a master-planned community known as River Islands in Lathrop, CA. The project began construction in 2006 and still has 15+ years of work remaining. We are currently looking to grow the construction management team to meet the pace of construction. Compensation is negotiable and will vary based on previous experience.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee or assist in management of construction projects from bid procurement thru implementation
• Supervise onsite subcontractors and coordinate various phases of work to complete work on time and within budget
• Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
• Negotiate with contractors to receive competitive pricing, schedules, and change orders
Qualifications:
• Required:
o Construction management background in grading, underground utilities, or water/sewer plants which consists of the following:
▪ Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or demonstrated project management/estimating work history and related experience
▪ 1-2 years of construction management, estimating support, engineering, or similar experience
Compensation:
Candidate compensation will be based upon prior experience and anticipated ability to either assist in project management, effectively manage individual projects in the $1-5M range or handle multiple $5-10M projects at a time with minimal supervision.
