Job Description:

The Junior Construction Project Manager will work under a Senior Construction Project Manager who will train and mentor the Jr. CPM to eventually take on responsibilities:

 

Planning:

  • Developing project plans, schedules and budgets.

  • Proactively identifying and creating solutions to potential challenges, risks or conflicts, including with scope changes, budgets, and schedules.

  • Coordinating with our design team and other staff on necessary permits and approvals.

Management:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for the construction project, and/or with other staff as agreed, on a project-by-project basis. 

  • Coordinating and communicating with architecture, construction and office staff, clients, subs, vendors and others as needed.

  • Leading and motivating project teams, including staff, subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Assigning responsibilities to staff and subs, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

  • Promoting a collaborative and positive work environment, including teamwork and communication.

  • Guiding and supporting team members, addressing performance and resource constraints.

  • Providing constructive feedback and helping to conduct performance evaluations as appropriate.

Project Execution:

  • Coordinating and directing all project activities from pre-construction to closeout, including staffing, work and inspections.

  • Monitoring project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

  • Collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of services, materials and equipment.

  • Communicating regularly with clients and staff to provide updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.

  • Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.

  • Managing contracts, sometimes in conjunction with other Levitch staff.

  • Keeping and organizing records of daily work, client questions/issues including potential change orders, drawings, material and equipment orders to meet schedules, subcontractor agreements and quotes, compliance with specifications and contract, data, reports, schedules and more.

Budget Management:

  • Working with Levitch colleagues to develop and manage project scopes, estimates, and budgets.

  • Tracking job progress and expenses, ensuring that projects are on schedule and budget.

  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor and supplier invoices for accuracy and adherence to budget.

  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality or client satisfaction.

Quality:

  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards, building codes, and design specifications.

  • Conducting regular jobsite inspections to monitor construction quality and identify and resolve issues.

  • Implementing corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives as needed.

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with single-family residential building projects including phases and scheduling, and estimating labor, materials, subcontractors, and construction costs.

  • Experience with and/or willingness to learn various software and tools (e.g., Excel, ProEst, Procore or other industry software).

  • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management

  • Able to travel to different job sites using a company vehicle.

  • Clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. as needed.

About the Position:

We are looking for a full-time Junior Construction Project Manager to work primarily on large single family residential remodel projects (e.g., major remodels and/or additions, with construction typically lasting seven months or longer) and some light commercial projects. The Junior Construction Project Manager will work closely with our field and office teams and clients to help oversee all aspects of our construction projects, ensuring that projects are organized and run smoothly: on time, on budget and to our clients’ satisfaction. Major areas of responsibility are planning, management, project execution, budget management, and quality. Please note that this position requires working both in our office and at job sites.
