About the Job:

Hartigan/Foley, Inc. is a well-established, full-service general contractor specializing in high-end custom residential, new commercial construction, private schools, and industrial/commercial projects across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.

We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join our team, working closely with our in-field superintendent on all aspects of construction projects. This role has growth potential, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time superintendent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise subcontractors, ensuring performance monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Maintain and update project schedules using Smartsheet or similar software.
  • Assist in adhering to construction budgets by monitoring expenses, identifying variances, and managing RFIs.
  • Contribute to achieving construction project goals by establishing standards and protocols, coordinating staff and subcontractors, and resolving design issues.
  • Foster a safe and secure work environment by enforcing standards, complying with regulations, and conducting weekly safety meetings.
  • Stay updated on emerging construction practices and standards.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
  • OSHA and/or first aid and CPR training certifications are a plus but not required (training provided upon hiring).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Procore, and Smartsheet.
  • Strong understanding of all construction phases, from grading to interior finishes.
  • Ability to perform quantity surveys from plans is a plus, as is an understanding of basic estimating formats and cost centers.
