Job Description:
Edwards Construction Group, a leading construction firm specializing in public works construction, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to develop and master a range of essential skills in construction management.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with experienced Superintendents to gain hands-on experience in project management.
Develop a solid understanding of public works construction practices and procedures.
Learn and master iPad skills for efficient on-site documentation and communication.
Gain proficiency in using Procore software, focusing on essential tabs such as Commitments, Daily Log, Drawings, Photos, and Specs.
Acquire knowledge of the Request for Information (RFI), Potential Change Order (PCO), and Construction Change Directive (CCD) processes.
Learn to effectively schedule and coordinate trades, including mastering the 3-week lookahead and basic scheduling processes.
Actively contribute to keeping projects on track by collaborating with inspectors and submitting RFIs in a timely manner.
Take responsibility for coordinating self-performed work to minimize delays and optimize project timelines.
