Job Description:
Founded in 1978, Nordby brings to every project over four decades of experience in commercial, residential, and wine cave construction throughout Northern California. With eight companies now under the Nordby umbrella, we provide an unparalleled range of expertise across a complementary spectrum of project types, paired with a deep understanding of the wine region and surrounding areas.
Our commercial construction team is growing and is looking to hire a Project Engineer to support our project teams as soon as January 2023. These teams work on wineries, tasting rooms, restaurants, hotels, warehouses, private membership buildings, offices and labs.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related major
- Completion of one internship or co-op
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Has a good mood and is eager to learn more
- Has a general understanding of Construction Documents
- Has a general understanding of fundamental construction principles
Expected commitments:
- Support Project Manager and Project Superintendent with all aspects of project.
- Manage and maintain all project documents: RFIs, Submittals, Construction/ Permit Drawings, Specifications, Schedule Issuances, etc.
- Professional communication and coordination with project partners, design team, subcontractors, jurisdictions/ inspectors, vendors, and clients.
- Review, qualify, and process subcontractor proposals or change orders.
- Create and maintain logs and marked up plan set to track field progress and installation.
- Leverage company tools and technology to document field existing and as-built conditions, not limited to photography.
