Full Time, Exempt position

Position Summary: City Ventures is ready to hire a highly motivated construction professional who will work under the direction of the Senior VP of Operations/Director of Construction (NCal) and support the Construction Manager. The Assistant Construction Manager is responsible for the supervision of all aspects of field related homebuilding process for assigned projects and specific customer service responsibilities. The key job objective is exceptional job schedule performance, completing homes within job budgets, on time while meeting company and customer quality expectations.

Required Experience: Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Some college coursework in Construction Management is preferred. 
  • Minimum of three to four (1-2) or more years of construction experience with some project oversight experience.
  • A degree in Construction Management may be substituted for experience.
  • Advanced training in one or more trades within the residential building industry is strongly preferred.

Skills – Technical

Knowledge of homebuilding and construction systems/processes, building codes and Register of Contractor Standards (ROC) Must be able to read plans to maintain quality control and inspect all aspects of construction including framing, stucco installations, electrical, plumbing, etc. Knowledge and use of a wide range of hand and power tools Microsoft Office Suite knowledge

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide ongoing management support and monitor all phases of construction in new home projects to include the start, finish and closing of new homes utilizing City Ventures schedule.
  • Support and coordinate on-site and off-site construction activity for the scope of work and for all trades which includes mass grading, underground utilities, paving and landscape.
  • Assistant with scheduling subcontractors and delivery dates for materials
  • Pre-inspect all trades work to determine readiness for all required governing agency inspections.
  • Supervise the work of laborers and subcontractors at several home sites within a community.
  • Inspect subcontractors work for quality standards.
  • Track and control construction costs against the budget to avoid cost overruns.
  • Support the preparation of daily, monthly & quarterly reports.
  • Coordinate the inspection process and support walk-through inspections and other scheduled inspections with the homeowner.
  • Communicate safety standards to laborers and subcontractors; enforce safety regulations on all job sites.
  • Manage the site to follow SWPPPS, OSHA and any other applicable governing agency
  • Support the management of customer expectations during the construction process through the homeowner orientation.
  • Interact daily with various departments of company, subcontractors, and city inspectors.
  • Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.
  • City Ventures, LLC. requires the ability to operate an automobile, have a valid state Driver’s License, and personal vehicle liability insurance coverage to meet the standard set by City Ventures

Compensation:

Salary ranges from $90K - $100K per year. Discretionary Bonus depending on several factors.

Medical, dental, vision and supplemental insurance are available. In addition, City Ventures offers FSA plans and a 401K with a 6% match. Three weeks (15 business days) PTO (Paid Time Off), Gym membership reimbursement of $40 per month, $85 cellphone reimbursement
