Project Engineer Position Overview

The purpose of the Project Engineer is to support the Project Manager and project team in maintaining all project documentation and generally facilitating construction activities from the office. This is not an onsite labor position, but construction site visits will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain all vendor purchase orders, subcontracts, and subcontract change orders.
  • Generate and/or issue RFIs, Submittals, Drawings, Specifications, and other project communications with the help of the Project Manager and Superintendent. Track responses and relay information to appropriate parties as needed.
  • Organize and maintain project files.
  • Participate in meetings, compile notes, and distribute minutes as needed.
  • Assist in ongoing project estimating as plans change during the course of construction.
  • Compile the project close-out book, including as-built drawings, final specifications, permits, and maintenance information for owner.
  • Ensure all plans and permits are accounted for and delivered to Owner, with copies maintained for Moroso’s file.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned, such as research, materials ordering, or site documentation


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in residential construction preferred, in the field or office.
  • Must be comfortable with technology and fluent with various software titles, including Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam Revu, and Procore.
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Some knowledge of practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in residential and commercial construction and maintenance.
  • Some understanding of architectural and engineering practices and able to interpret and work from plans and details.
  • Assumes responsibility for problem solving.
  • Extremely well organized.
  • Distinguishes between critical details and unimportant facts.
  • Listens actively.
  • Leads and follows as situations require.
  • Builds strong relationships.
     

Working Hours, Location, and Benefits

  • Exempt position
  • Primary work location is in our San Francisco office. Occasional construction site visits will be required. 
  • All new hires are subject to a 90-day introductory period.
