McGillivray Construction Inc. is a General Contractor dedicated to serving our clients through practical knowledge and experience acquired in the construction field. We specialize in commercial projects including hotels, public housing, educational facilities, law enforcement, light industrial, OSHPD, DSA, retail, office, and transportation. We are seeking a Full-Time Project Engineer who can make an impact on our team. This position serves a dual role, supporting estimating during the preconstruction phase and assisting project teams with project engineering responsibilities throughout construction. Position Functions:

• Assist in the planning and preparation of construction cost estimates of buildings or other structures from drawings, outlines, and specifications
• Review subcontractor bids for accuracy, completeness, and scope compliance
• Communicate with subcontractors to clarify scope, pricing, and bid inclusions
• Assist in the preparation of RFI's and Submittals
• Draft subcontractor scopes for subcontract agreements
• Support project teams during the transition from estimating to construction
• Perform all other related duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Desired Education & Experience:

• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor's Degree. Preference to Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Statistics/Mathematics.
• Two years of professional construction experience in any capacity (general contractor experience preferred)
