Audiovisual Resources and the Visual Aids of Construction Management:

All of the Construction Management teaching labs are capable of projecting images and video from the instructor’s “smart” computer.   Each of these computers is connected to an overhead LCD projector and sound.  Additionally, each of these computers is equipped with a DVD player and appropriate software.  There is a document camera with each of the “smart” computers and capability to switch between the document camera and whatever is on the computer screen.

Computer Facilities of Construction Management:

The Construction Management Department has five “smart” classrooms dedicated to instructor driven teaching.  Each “smart” station consists of a computer, DVD player, document camera, VCR, overhead LCD projector, sound and video controls, and laptop hookup. 

In addition to the “smart” rooms, Construction Management also has one traditional computer lab (shared with ARCE) and one “smart” teaching computer lab.  The traditional computer lab is comprised of 24 computers, an 8 ½ x 11 laser printer, and a 24” color plotter for student use.  The teaching computer lab has 24 student computers, one smart station as in the other classrooms, one 8 ½ x 11 color laser printer, one 11x 17 black and white laser printer, and one 24” color plotter.

All computers in the Construction Management Department utilize the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.  Twenty-eight of the computers have 2.0 GHz Intel processor and 1.25 GB of Ram.  Twenty-four computers have a 2.4 GHz Intel processor and 512 MB of Ram.  Two of the computers have a 2.6 GHz Intel processor and 512 MB of Ram.
